DIY Oatmeal Packets
Oatmeal is a quick and easy breakfast for us to make in the morning. My kids don't like it plain though. We add in brown sugar, fruit, chocolate chips, etc. I've purchased the packets before but even with coupons those can be spendy.
Quaker Oatmeal was on sale recently at Albertsons and I was able to get the cylinders for free. I split an entire container up into my own "packets". All we do in the morning is pour it in a bowl, add some water, and microwave. Want to make your own oatmeal packets? Here's how:
1 Cup quick 1 minute oatmeal
1 or 2 Tbsp brown sugar (or whatever other addition you enjoy in your oatmeal)
Add both ingredients to a small ziploc bag and label if desired.
When you're ready to cook it up pour the mixture in a bowl and add 1 cup water or milk. Microwave for 1 1/2 or 2 minutes.
Easy, huh? Enjoy!
